A repair shop certified by the Icelandic Automobile Association has a quality system that fulfils regulations laid down by the Ministry of Justice to purge a damage record from a vehicle’s permanent registration.
Cabas is a damage-assessment system used by repair shops to calculate repair costs. When a repair shop displays the Cabas logo it signifies that the client can approach the repair shop directly to assess damage and, at the same time, make an appointment for repairs. The repair shop then sends a damage report to Sjóvá.
After an accident, Sjóvá determines whether the owner is entitled to rent a vehicle at Sjóvá expense. Sjóvá issues to qualified owners a voucher specifying the rental company to be used and the maximum number of rental days authorized. Please familiarize yourself with the terms of the car-rental company, including comprehensive motor insurance deductibles, as well as the maximum amount of free kilometers allowed per day.
The owner is responsible for 15% of the total cost of the car window repair in each instance.
